As Senior Controller (all genders) you will be responsible for owning and developing key processes in our Group Controlling function, including but not limited to cashflow forecasting, balance sheet planning, and Intercompany cost control. In addition, you will support business outcomes by steering and analyzing performance across all group entities and by focusing on improving Controlling and financial reporting processes across the group. The ideal candidate is an agile finance all arounder with strong process fluency, excellent understanding of integrated financial statements, strong commercial instincts and the ability to drive both quick operational improvements and long-term transformation initiatives – including the introduction of advanced methods and tools to enhance reporting, planning, and analysis.
This position is based at our headquarters in Hamburg or in our offices in Berlin or Dresden.
Minimum Qualifications and skills
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Controlling or Finance.
- Degree in business, finance, economics, or comparable field, ideally withfocuson Finance or Controlling.
- Strong business acumen and ability to present complex financial topics clearly.
- High personal standards for accuracy and performance even under pressure.
- Strong self-management, structured way of working, and ability to operate on your own.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling.
- Experience with MS Dynamics NAV and reporting tools such as Business Objects, IBM COGNOS TM1.
- Very strong English language skills.
Preferred Qualifications and skills
- Expertise in data warehouse applications is an advantage.
- Experience with digital tools and openness to implementing AI-driven solutions in financial processes is a strong plus.
- German language skills are a huge plus.
What the role is about
- You will further develop and own the Group’s cashflow modelling, balance sheet planning and Intercompany transaction Controlling.
- You continuously develop, optimize, and enhance internal controlling tools, reporting structures, and financial processes at Group and entity level.
- You derive insights from the monthly accounts and translate that into action to steer the business.
- You work on improving the data foundation and automation behind the Controlling department, ideally including supporting a transition to Tableau based reporting.
- You act as a sparring partner to senior management including the VP Controlling and FP&A.
- You contribute to special projects as they arrive, including M&A-related activities and strategic finance initiatives.
