Junior SEO Manager (all genders)

For our Growth Marketing team, we are looking for a Junior SEO Manager (all genders) as parental leave cover, starting immediately, on a fixed-term contract for 2 years and in full-time. The position can be based in Hamburg, Dresden or Berlin.

Minimum Qualifications  

• You have a completed degree or comparable qualification, ideally related to marketing, communications, business, or a technical field.
• You have initial experience with SEO, HTML, and content management systems such as WordPress.
• You are interested in the development of generative AI and search engines (GEO / AI Search) and ideally already have some initial exposure to it — or are eager to quickly get up to speed.
• You can work with Excel quickly and confidently to achieve optimal and accurate results — data-driven work is more than just a buzzword to you.
• You have an affinity for numbers.
• You enjoy creative writing and have excellent spelling and grammar skills in both German and English.
• As a team player, you enjoy taking on responsibility and bring a results-oriented, structured, and reliable way of working.

Preferred Qualifications

• You have relevant initial professional experience in the SEO field.
• You bring initial experience in managing agencies or freelance writers, as well as in creating briefings.
• You have initial experience working with monitoring and SEO tools such as Sistrix, Searchmetrics, Search Console, Screaming Frog, or early GEO tracking tools.

What you can expect 

• Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for developing and further evolving the SEO strategy for our national and international brands for both classic search engines and AI-powered search systems (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) 
• You support the technical SEO management of our websites, including topics such as crawling, indexing, website structure, and page speed, working closely with Engineering 
• You take on project management for parts of our content, i.e., you plan, manage, and oversee content production; in addition to coordinating agencies and freelance writers, this also includes writing your own articles 
• You commission external service providers and freelance writers as needed, and handle editing and final approval of the articles you’ve briefed 
• Together with the team, you implement SEO-relevant content and optimizations in our content management system (WordPress) 
• You conduct topic, keyword, and increasingly prompt/intent research using the relevant tools as a foundation for both classic SEO and GEO 
• Together with the SEO team, you analyze the performance of pages and articles, both in classic rankings and in visibility within AI-generated answers and derive optimization measures from this 
• You support reporting and monitoring of key SEO KPIs for various markets
